Virtualization technologies – IRF2< /h2>

Using IRF2, you can virtualize up to four S7500X switches into one logical IRF fabric. IRF2 has the following advantages:

High Availability (HA) – Patented hot standby technology realizes data redundancy and uninterrupted forwarding for the control plane and data plane. This improves availability and performance, eliminates critical elements that could cause system failure, and ensures continued service delivery.

Load balancing – the ability to aggregate channels across different chassis provides load distribution and redundant connections across multiple backbone interfaces, which increases the degree of redundancy and channel capacity utilization.

Easy management – management the entire IRF switch fabric is carried out through a single IP address, which simplifies device and topology management, increases operational efficiency and reduces network maintenance costs.

Virtualization technologies – MDC support

MDC technology allows you to virtualize a single S7500X switch as multiple logical switches, allowing you to use a single core switch to support multiple services.

1:N virtualization maximizes switch resource utilization, reduces total network cost of ownership, and provides service isolation.

Functions for data centers

Ethernet Virtual Interconnect (EVI) technology is a technology encapsulation of MAC addresses in IP packets, providing Layer 2 connectivity between Layer 2 networks at remote sites using a routed IP network. It is used to combine geographically remote sites into a large virtualized data center, the nodes of which require Layer 2 proximity.

Virtual Extensible LAN technology , VXLAN) – This technology uses a method of encapsulating MAC addresses in UDP frames, in which a VXLAN header is added to the original Layer 2 packet, and the resulting one is placed in a UDP-IP packet. By encapsulating MAC addresses within UDP frames, VXLAN technology allows Layer 2 network traffic to be tunneled through a Layer 3 network, providing two major benefits: greater scalability for Layer 2 segmentation and greater utilization of existing routes in the network.

MP-BGP EVPN (Multi-Protocol Edge Routing for Ethernet Virtual Private Networks) uses the standard-based BGP protocol as the control plane for VXLAN overlay networks, providing automatic discovery peers and disseminate end-host reachability information using BGP-based VTEP. MP-BGP EVPN has many advantages, such as eliminating traffic flooding, eliminating the need for a mandatory mesh network between VTEP peers by supporting BGP RR, achieving optimal flow-based end-to-end load balancing, and much more.

Full support for MPLS/VPLS functions

H3C S7500X series switches support Multi-VRF functionality (multiple instances of virtual routing and forwarding tables), which allows it to be used as MCE equipment supporting MPLS VPN Layer 3 MPLS VPN Layer 2 (Martini and Kompella). In addition, the switches support OAM functionality for MPLS, simplifying management and maintenance. When used in conjunction with the H3C intelligent Management Center (iMC) network management system, MPLS VPN Manager makes it easy to deploy and maintain MPLS.

Additionally, H3C S7500X Series switches support access methods such as VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service), VLL (Virtual Leased Line), Hierarchical VPLS and QINQ+VPLS dual tags, which provides an end-to-end solution for Layer 2 VPN access.

High performance for IPv4/IPv6 services

B H3C’s S7500X Series switches feature a dual IPv4/IPv6 stack, providing a comprehensive IPv4/IPv6 solution with support for multiple tunnels, IPv4/IPv6 Layer 3 routing protocols, multicast, and policy-based routing. The S7500X series switches are a mature commercial IPv6 product that is certified for access network applications by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, and also has Phase 2 IPv6 Readiness certification.

Encryption technology on Hardware MACsec

H3C’s S7500X Series switches support hardware-based MACsec (802.1ae) encryption technology, the industry standard security technology for protecting all traffic on Ethernet links. Compared to traditional application-level software encryption technologies, MACsec technology secures point-to-point Ethernet links between directly connected nodes and is capable of detecting and preventing most security threats.
