Advanced < b>means visual representation

The rapid development of the data center industry is leading to the emergence of larger and larger data centers; At the same time, the main limiting factors for their further expansion are reliability, complexity of operation and maintenance. H3C’s S6805 Series switches provide industry-leading data automation, data management capabilities, and data center visibility. H3C’s S6805 series switches are capable of transmitting resource information, statistics and alarms from RDMA to the data center management and maintenance platform in real time using ERSPAN and GRPC protocols. With their help, the data center management and maintenance platform can perform real-time analysis to monitor network quality, troubleshoot problems, generate alerts about risks and system optimization needs, etc. Using visualization tools, it is also possible to automatically amend the network configuration and reduce congestion, which allows you to move to automated management and maintenance of the data center.

Powerful features SDN

H3C’s S6805 series switches feature next-generation hardware with more flexible Openflow flow tables, additional resources, and more precise access control list (ACL) mapping, dramatically expanding the capabilities of software-defined networking (SDN) in to meet data center SDN requirements.

H3C S6805 Series switches support the standard Openflow protocol, which can be included and managed via H3C cloud or other common cloud platforms or third-party controllers, which allows you to flexibly adapt the network to the needs of the organization and automate management. Users and third-party controllers can use standard interfaces to develop and implement a separate network management strategy for rapid business development, expanded functionality and intelligence device management.

Wide range functions for centers processing data

The switches support a wide range of data center features, including the following:

< p style="font-weight: 400;">FCoE technology – allows you to use Ethernet packets to transmit FC packets. This allows FC SANs and Ethernet LANs to share the same network infrastructure, providing an excellent solution to the problem of coexistence of different network types. On the S6805 series switches, all SFP+ ports to downstream systems can be switched to FCoE port mode. By seamlessly integrating FC SANs and Ethernet networks, the overall network infrastructure is greatly simplified.

H3C’s S6805 series switches support data center bridging (DCB) technologies ), non-disruptive software updates (ISSU), Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM), and Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE). They fully meet the needs of high-performance data centers with ease of management and high energy efficiency.

H3C S6805 series switches support VXLAN technology – Virtual Extensible Local Area Network (VXLAN) technology. networks (Virtual Extensible LAN) uses a method of encapsulating MAC addresses in UDP frames, in which a VXLAN header is added to the original Layer 2 packet and the resulting one is placed in a UDP-IP packet. By encapsulating MAC addresses within UDP frames, VXLAN technology allows Layer 2 network traffic to be tunneled through a Layer 3 network. This provides two primary benefits: greater scalability for Layer 2 segmentation and greater utilization of existing paths in the network.

H3C’s S6805 Series switches support MP-BGP EVPN (Multi-Protocol Edge Routing for Ethernet Virtual Private Networks), which uses the standard-based BGP protocol as the control plane for overlay networks. VXLAN networks, which provides automatic peer discovery and end-host reachability information distribution using BGP-based VTEP. MP-BGP EVPN has many advantages, such as eliminating traffic flooding, eliminating the need for a mandatory mesh network between VTEP peers by supporting BGP RR, achieving optimal flow-based end-to-end load balancing, and much more.

H3C’s S6805 series switches include data center support features such as Puppet and Chef, which can be used to automate data center operations and management functions.

Flexible choice directions < b>airflow

To adapt to the cooling flow patterns in data center aisles, H3C’s S6805 Series switches offer flexibility in terms of the choice of airflow direction, which can be carried out either in the direction from the front to the rear, or in the opposite direction. The choice of airflow direction (from front to rear or vice versa) can be done by users by installing appropriate models of fan modules.

Excellent < b>capabilities management

In switches The following features are implemented to enhance system management:

Multiple management interfaces, including a serial console port, a mini-USB console port, a USB port, two out-of-band management ports, and two SFP ports. SFP ports can be used as in-band management ports, through which encapsulated probe packets are sent to the controller or other management devices for in-depth analysis.

Supports various access methods, including SNMPv1/v2c/v3, Telnet, SSH 2.0, SSL and FTP.

Support for GRPC, which provides flexible programming interfaces for customization.

Telemetry support for high-speed, accurate real-time device statistics collection.

Technology intelligent fault-tolerant architecture H3C IRF2

H3C’s S6805 series switches feature Intelligent Resilient Framework 2 (IRF2) technology. IRF2 provides the following benefits:

Excellent scalability: With IRF2, device aggregation can be plug-and-play by simply adding one or more switches to the stack IRF2 and enabling IRF2 stacking mode on the new device. New devices can be managed through a single shared IP address, allowing software updates to be carried out simultaneously on all devices to reduce network expansion costs.

High reliability: patented IRF2’s 1:N redundancy technology allows each of the slaves in the IRF2 stack to serve as a backup for the master, providing control plane redundancy and data link redundancy, as well as uninterrupted Layer 3 forwarding. This improves reliability and helps avoid interruptions at work and generally improve productivity. If the primary device fails, traffic does not stop.

Load balancing: IRF2 supports link aggregation across devices, allowing connections to higher and higher-level devices low level using multiple physical channels. This creates another layer of redundancy in the network and promotes fuller utilization of network resources.

Availability: IRF2 technology is implemented by H3C over standard 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GE) ports or 40 Gigabit Ethernet (40GE). It allows you to allocate bandwidth for both service traffic and application traffic, providing the necessary separation of local traffic and traffic to higher-level systems. IRF2 rules can be applied not only at the scale of one rack or adjacent racks, but also at the scale of the entire local network.

Various means increasing reliability

< p style="font-weight: 400;">The S6805 series switches implement various protection schemes to improve reliability at both the switch and link levels. All models, equipped with overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature protection, support redundant, removable power supplies, giving you the flexibility to select AC or DC power supplies based on your actual needs. All switches in the line support fault detection and alarm transmission for power supplies and fan modules, as well as adjusting fan speed based on ambient temperature.

The switches support a variety of channel reservation technologies, such as proprietary H3C developments – RRPP, VRRPE and Smart Link. These technologies ensure rapid network convergence even when the network carries large volumes of traffic from many different services.

Wide < b>selection functions controls quality service (QoS)

H3C S6805 Series switches support Layer 2 to Layer 4 packet filtering, allowing traffic classification based on source MAC address, destination MAC address, source IP address, IP address destination, TCP/UDP port number, protocol type and VLAN.

Each of the 100G ports provides flexible queue scheduling algorithms that can be used simultaneously on both port level and at the queue level.

S6805 series switches support five queuing methods, including Strict Priority (SP), Weighted Round Robin service (Weighted Round Robin, WRR), SP+WRR, weighted fair queuing (WFQ) and SP+WFQ.

S6805 series switches support Committed Access Rate (CAR) functionality with a minimum configuration step of 8 kbps, as well as port mirroring in both directions, which is used to monitor traffic on a specific port and forward packets of the duplicated port to the monitoring port to detect and resolve network faults.

Comprehensive policies ensuring security

H3C’s S6805 series switches support authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA), RADIUS authentication, user account authentication, IP address, MAC address, VLAN and port user authentication, and dynamic and static binding; When paired with the H3C iMC network management platform, they provide real-time management, instant diagnostics, and mitigation of unacceptable network behavior.

S6805 Series Switches from H3C support advanced management capabilities based on access control lists (ACL); You can define a large number of ACLs for each incoming and outgoing port, and you can also use ACLs in conjunction with a VLAN. This simplifies user registration and avoids wasting ACL resources. In addition, the S6805 series switches take full advantage of Unicast Reverse Path Forwarding (uRPF) technology. When a device receives a packet, it checks the return route to confirm the source address where the packet supposedly came from, and discards the packet if there is no such path. This allows you to effectively counteract substitution of the source address on the network.
